Building with bamboo

Under the guidance of the world-renowned bamboo expert Jorg Stamm and master bamboo carpenter Vinc Math, you will dive into the practical side of bamboo construction by building a full size pavilion. The pavilion is designed as a shading roof structure that celebrates the astonishing potential of leaf like shapes surprisingly made out of straight elements. These shapes are derived from the geometry of “Ruled surfaces”. During the workshop you will learn about the physical characteristics of bamboo, the use of bamboo specific carpentry tools, and some typical construction steps.
