Luis Felipe López
Head of Product Development and Structural Design at Base Bahay Foundation, Philippines
Luis Felipe López is a Structural Engineer from Colombia who has devoted his entire career to researching and developing bamboo building systems. He has authored and collaborated on multiple bamboo structural design codes and is part of the ISO Committee for TC165 (Timber and Bamboo Structures). He has worked as a researcher at the University of Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, where he worked on earthquake resistance of bamboo structures. He has closely collaborated with renowned bamboo architect Simón Velez. Currently, he is the Head of Product Development and Structural Design at Base Bahay Foundation, which uses Cement Bamboo Frame technology to construct low-cost housing.
