Manu Narendran

Manu Narendran is an engineer by training and completed his bachelor’s degree from the School of Building Science & Technology, CEPT University in the year 2011. He co-founded Thumbimpressions, a design practice that prioritizes environmental concerns and craftsmanship. His close involvement in academia for initial few years and active practice in the field has helped in developing a research-based approach towards commercial projects. His keen inclination towards working hands-on with artisans has led to creative engagements with them while executing commercial buildings and highlighting the importance of artisan-driven engagement models in today's construction practices. He has extensive experience in bamboo-based projects across India. He has conducted national and international workshops and lectures on various natural materials used in the built form. He is a lifetime member of the Bamboo Society of India.
